To finish the course in 6 weeks, you need to put in about 10hr/week studying the material in the course and completing the exercises. Obviously, the overall job search process can be a bigger time commitment if you are learning the technical skills from scratch or going on several interviews per week. :)
Having said that, it is a self-paced course and be completed on any schedule that works for you. Spacing it out over 10 or 12 weeks is totally fine if you’re not rushing to find a new job immediately. On the flip side, you can compress it down and complete it in fewer weeks if you have more time available.
Do I have to finish this in 6 weeks?
No, the course is entirely self-paced, so the amount of time that you devote is entirely up to you.
That said, even just a few hours per week is enough to get your job search moving forward. Obviously, the more time you spend, the more success you can potentially have, but I would say that a focused 2 hours per week will help make a massive impact on your job search success.
You’ll receive full support (group coaching, Facebook, Slack, email, access to course materials) forever, regardless of how long it takes you to complete the course.
Can I really learn everything I need to know to become a data scientist in 6 weeks?
The six week timeline refers to mastering the job search skills. Developing the technical skills to be a successful data scientist is highly dependent on your current skill level. You might be 100% ready now or you might need 6 months of practicing math, stats, and programming.
If I have the right technical skills can I really get a job in 6 weeks?
Yes! We've had multiple DSDJ students get job offers in as little as 3 weeks (and me personally as well!).
